Connect WHMCS to existing DA install

I would like to use WHMCS on our servers. We have DA installed, there is the admin account, 1 reseller account (with our main domain) and under that reseller there are about 50 domains. Some domains need to be connected to 1 physical customer.

 

Questions we have:

1) Is it possible to install WHMCS on top of an already existing DA install; and connect those physical DA users to 'customers' so that our customers can login to WHMCS and do their DNS administration (with help of the TransIP API which is released as module for WHMCS)?

2) Is there also an 'expense' module available so we can enter our expenses we made?

1) You can use WHMCS with an existing DirectAdmin installation. For cPanel/WHM, there's an import script available; unfortunately for DirectAdmin, there is not. You will need to enter all clients manually into DirectAdmin (http://wiki.whmcs.com/Importing_Data#Manual_Client_Entry).

 

As the domain names are already registered and the hosting packages have already been created, it's going to be very hard to import these products into WHMCS as you'd need to "re-create" them, meaning that you'd have to re-create all domain names and hosting packages you already have.

 

You should only use WHMCS if you used it from the beginning really. A lot can go wrong! Of course, you can try but it's going to be a lot of work.

 

2) Yes, I believe there is but I don't know the name at the moment :(

Hi,

You will need to import the existing accounts manually as wdele mentioned. But provided you enter the correct domain, username and select the correct server, WHMCS will be ablet o manage the account - it doesn't need to know the password of each individual account to manage it.
