Creating Addons

Is there a quicker way to create addons?

just to be clear, you're talking about Product Addons ?? as addons are something else...

It seems like there should be. Right now I am creating them one-by-one and if Product A is already a product, why cant I choose it to be an addon for another Product B and vice versa?

because they're products and not addons.. e.g independent of each other, and errr not an addon to a product. :)

I suppose technically you could join Products A&B together... but that'd be a Product Bundle and probably not what you're looking for.

btw - how quickly do you need to create them? product addons can apply to multiple products, and you could duplicate them quickly by manipulating the table records... but that would be pointless, unless you're just wanting to introduce minor differences to each addon.

So I guess what brought this up was when I enabled the Market connect for SSLs

That created products - great!

That also created Addons - which were exact mirrors of the product, just in addon form for other services that we have. I didnt configure these, the script did it.

Ultimately I want to have "Product A" be available as a standalone, and then also have it show up as an "something else you might be interested in" when someone buys "Product B".

Maybe that's a bundle? I dunno

I suspect they're being created by a SQL query... so there's nothing to stop you from writing a script to create a products and/or addons based on certain values - they'd only be 3 tables to consider - addons, pricing and products.

you could always go the feature request route, suggest it and the feature might be added by 2021.
