.NET Price Increase On February 1st, 2017

On February 1st, 2017, VeriSign, the Registry Operator for the .net domain, is increasing the annual registration price for the .net extension.

As a result of this registry increase, the cost of registering and/or renewing a .net domain will be increasing for all domain registrars, and in turn will affect prices for our eNom and ResellerClub users.

For our existing eNom users, we are passing on the exact cost price increase as set forth by Verisign of $0.74. For new eNom accounts created after February 1st, the price for .net will be $11.62.

For our ResellerClub users, we are passing on the exact cost price increase as set forth by Verisign of $0.74. The new price for .net will be $10.59.

What you need to do

On February 1st, you may want to increase your selling price of the .net TLD within WHMCS. To do this, go to Setup > Products/Services > Domain Pricing and click on Open Pricing next to the .net TLD. You can also use the Bulk Pricing Update Utility to update the .net domain renewal price for existing customers.

Before that date, you might also like to consider renewing any .net domains you own to avoid the upcoming price increase.

You can also encourage your customers to do the same by sending out a targeted email marketing campaign using the Mass Mail Tool in WHMCS. This could encourage customers to renew in advance and potentially entice customers may not have otherwise renewed to go ahead and do so.
