Live Chat - IonCube Error

Recommended Posts

It's been a month since a bug reported (Case: LIVECHAT-5936) regarding Live Chat incompatibility with latest IonCube, and even though you said that you were currently (October 10, 2016) undergoing testing of the new version (https://marketplace.whmcs.com/product/34), still no update has been made.

Can you please let me know the current status of this bug.

Error:

Fatal error: The file /home/user/public_html/modules/livehelp/include/config.php was encoded by the ionCube Encoder for PHP 5.3 and cannot run under PHP 7.0. Please ask the provider of the script to provide a version encoded with the ionCube Encoder for PHP 7.0. in Unknown on line 0

Hello EWH1,

At this time we do not have an update on when to expect a PHP7 upgrade for live chat, in the meantime please continue to use PHP 5.6 and we'll update this thread as soon as more information is avalible.

Thanks for checking with them. I have no desire to continue using PHP 5.6, as we have already updated to PHP7 for other add-ons. If they, or WHMCS, since it is purchased through you, can't get this updated I will just have to cancel this add-on and move to another chat option.

Just for clarification here:

Chatstack ( Live Chat ) does not encode their software. This is not an issue with chatstack.

The problem is that the WHMCS team doesn't want to re-encode the software to be ready for php7, not chatstack

Interesting, since they state both here and in the marketplace comments that they are waiting on Chatstack.

WHMCS, can you please clarify what the real delay is here? We pay WHMCS for this add-on, not Chatstack.

Thanks.

I've owned the chatstack product for years. They don't encode the product.

As far as php7 support, the latest version i've tested ( 5.4.4233 ) works like a champ under php7. Installs with no problems, ran a few tests and it did what it should.

Now, undoubtedly, WHMCS has to make some changes to the initial software, given the messy directory requirement, and, of course the customer side of things, but that stuff should already be worked out :)

Where did you get that version?

The version that WHMCS provides still shows as: Live Chat Addon V5.1.1280 - Full Version

Thanks.
