Product bundle with WHMCS

Hi,

Anyone face with WHMCS product bundle problem ?

I tried to setting product bundle but there is a problem appear:

Case 1:

- Click to https://members.domain.com/cart.php?a=add&bid=8 and order: it works fine.

- The problem here: Order direct without going direct above link no effect in this case. The condition of order cart in this case was met: buy product A + B: discount 20%. But the cart still charge full for all item.

Today another problem come again:

Case 2:

- Create product bundle for 2 domain: only domain name, no services require for this bundle. For instances: buy .com is $5 and .net $10 = $15 for total.

Normally: .com $10 and .net $10.

After created bundle and we have link as https://members.domain.com/cart.php?a=add&bid=9

The problem here:

- Click on this link and it redirect to hosting order page instead of domain lookup page.

- When lookup domain .com it will show all other extensions you have (.net includes in this case). If you choose .net so this cart will fail and total due is $20.

Ps: If you want it works you must not choose .net extension when lookup .com and select .com only, then click add to cart for .com domain, another page will appear for lookup again, and in this stage for .net extension... this will works.

I wonder why WHMCS do not auto understand the workflow insight ?

Hi,

Case 1:

I think one argument for this could be to prevent someone inadvertently discovering discounts that you may only want to give to specific customers... e.g bundles are effectively hidden, and preventing discounts being applied unless the correct link is followed makes sense.

of course, your suggestion makes sense too - it's just that WHMCS went in a different direction.

- Click on this link and it redirect to hosting order page instead of domain lookup page.

if it's a domains only bundle, that can be fixed by using...

https://members.domain.com/cart.php?a=add&domain=register&bid=9

Ps: If you want it works you must not choose .net extension when lookup .com and select .com only, then click add to cart for .com domain, another page will appear for lookup again, and in this stage for .net extension... this will works.

it's insane and was the same in v5 too.

I don't use product bundles that contain only domains for that reason.

I wonder why WHMCS do not auto understand the workflow insight ?

the point you always need to remember about WHMCS is that it's development is slow... they've been tweaked slightly for v6, but these order forms are basically the same as those from v5.

I doubt we'll see any improvements until the new order form templates go to beta... they haven't given any timeline on that, but my guess would be next year - but you never quite know when they'll spring them on us. :)
