This depends on how the information is retrieved: Methode 1 syntax is limited for 500 lookups/ip. This will only tell if a domain is OR is not available for registration. whois -h whois.domain-registry.nl 'is <domein>[.<label>].nl' Methode 2 syntax is limited for only 15 lookups per day/ip whois -h whois.domain-registry.nl '<domein>[.<label>].nl' Can someone tell me what methode is used in WHMCS? I have done a test and think that the second, with just a few lookups is used. Can someone either confirm or deny this? There is a list of editable whoisservers in WHMCS but what methode is used remains invisible due to the resctricted -Ioncube- code. Ask for the form to get an exemption (vrijstelling) for the WHOIS requests, if you do not have the exemption, you can get a maximum of 15 requests per day.
