We have been using a highly customized MBv5 installation for a while now and although most of it works fine (signups, provisioning, theme customization) the one thing that has really started to suck the big one, is it's lack of consistency when billing user's as well as reporting, one-off invoices, single invoices, etc. Basically MBv5 works great for everything besides BILLING.
The one thing it had going for us is the ability to have multiple order forms, each with their own template settings. Each order form operated independent of each other and had different features like username verification, stripped domain registration/domains based off username, and other things.
We have no problem migrating our existing customizations in MBv5 to WHMCS or developing custom modules for WHMAP/CS, but we want to make sure that there is at least some of the below options/features are available as a base to work from.
1. None of our products are any form of website hosting except for our one cpanel box, and it does not handle domain registrations/transfers, just user accounts and subdomains based off the username.
Are non-hosting products able to be used as well as tied to custom provisioning modules as well as supporting non-hosting type 'addons'?
2. Multiple Order Forms/Order Form Themes from the same installation, each with their own seperate ordering templates/functions.
3. Goes with above. User's ordering with a certain order form/product type should be able to specify a certain default theme/skin set for their client area(each order form has a different type of client that would have different options once in their client control panel)
4. Client can order addons and more products through their client area.(had to be custom setup)
5. Client can actually upgrade/downgrade their account on their own(yeah, this never worked in MBv5)
These are not make it or break it for our decision, just would like to get a feel of the work required on our part to get this to work the way we want.
