Sequential invoice numbers make it very easy for our customers and competitors to estimate our revenues, which we don't want to happen. Something like YEAR{RAND} or YEARMONDAY{RAND} would work. 0 Alex - Arvixe Posted March 16, 2015 Share Posted March 16, 2015 No one will be able to get an accurate picture of your revenues by looking at the invoice numbers. Since day 1, packages may have changed in pricing, one client might pay $1000/year in invoice ID 50 whereas invoice ID 51 a client is paying you $3 per month. So just having the invoice IDs themselves, a client won't be able to tell the revenue you're making. Simply one can't make an educated guess.
