I would rather have this in the TOS and make the checkout page less wordy.

How do you remove the line * Free Domain Registration applies to the following extensions only: .com,.net,.org from the sign up page. Or everywhere.

in configureproductdomain.tpl of your chosen order form template directory, you should remove the following line...

{if $freedomaintlds}* <em>{$LANG.orderfreedomainregistration} {$LANG.orderfreedomainappliesto}: {$freedomaintlds}</em>{/if}

Or use a language override and replace the working with a blank entry. The override is a better option as you won't have to reedit the template upon each upgrade.

actually, in this case it might be slightly better to use a language override as I think these terms are probably only used on that one page... however, one thing to always bear in mind is that this might not always be the case and the same language term might be used in multiple places in different contexts - so while making an entry blank might work on one page, it might make another page using that entry look wrong (from a syntax/grammar point of view).

you shouldn't necessarily have to edit the template after an upgrade anyway - as your chosen theme and order-form template folders should be duplicated and then edited - rather than editing any of the built-in templates directly.

though I appreciate that most users probably don't bother doing that and edit them directly anyway!
