It would be great if the software had a button or link somewhere in the admin section to easily backup the database. Or even better, it does a nightly backup for you and archives it.

It does. Under Utilities -> Database Status
There is an option to download a full backup.
Also, if your running cpanel servers and all your sites arent being backed up nightly, your nuts.
You can make a cron job which will backup a database into a .sql file or a .tar.gz file and place it in a folder on the server...Originally Posted by michelle
If you have access to root WHM (not WHMCS) you can enable backups in case anything should go wrong. If you are under a reseller account any respectable host should have that option turned on...
