Default PDF Invoice Fonts and more

I'm having a hard time getting the PDF invoice to look halfway decent. In particular the font used (Arial by default?) seems to cram certain letters together (kerning?) at least on my Mac. I've tried changing it in pdfconfig.php, but it doesn't seem to make much difference. Does anyone have any advice on making this thing look better? Anyone have any templates or customizations they want to share?

    Hi,

I had a hardtime too, but I managed to make it look almost as our hardcopy invoices
attached is a zip file with our pdfconfig.php as a zip file.
We still use Arial as a font though.
