License System Infrastructure Updates

As some of you will be aware, we have in recent times unfortunately become somewhat of a target for DDOS attacks. None more so than in the weeks after we partnered with cPanel.

One of our first major priorities after joining forces was to look at the hosting infrastructure behind WHMCS, and to solidify and improve on it wherever possible. The first step of this was switching to new hardware, in cPanel's own datacenter.

Now while the WHMCS product does make use of a local key licensing system, with only periodic call backs to our licensing servers, meaning that any downtime we experience would never normally affect your own WHMCS installations', during the repeated DDOS attacks which at times overloaded our servers resources, a small number of our users did experience problems. These occurred due to either the local keys having expired, or not having been updating and validating correctly during times of normal operation.

So over the past few weeks, our development team has been hard at work in conjunction with the guys over at cPanel, making significant updates to both the licensing system and infrastructure behind it. A substantial advantage of the partnership with cPanel has been the ability to tap into their vast knowledge of system redundancy and utilizing some of their past experiences to provide both a website and support system, that is spread across multiple geographically diverse data centers, as well as multiple servers within them.

These updates have now gone live and eliminate any single point of failure, the advantage of which means we have a redundant system that further protects and benefits you, our customers.

We hope you will find this new setup beneficial.
