Precisely. Helm was the very definition of being sold out by people I personally knew and trusted. It left a very bitter taste. This announcement is nothing like that though...

Yes, same here.we used modernbill2 to 4 version, until plesk adquire them, and destroyed a big billing software. There we move to whmcs
The real difference though is that cPanel is not Plesk (Parallels). Parallels and its predecessors has by far been the messiest company with the messiest software we had to work with, in every aspect. cPanel, on the other hand has been the best, together with Matt and his WHMCS. I really mean it. Those two have always been wonderful with both, their software and their support. ... Still, the more unions one gets into the more stiffling, usually (when it comes to innovations and quick decisions).

Its a great news that whmcs finally decided to partner with cpanel, waiting for further update.
Tweet from @WHMCS, at HostingCon with cPanel:

This is why it seems like whmcs.com site is hosted on data center of cPanel now.
So now Matt has direct access to data center whereas earlier they were dependent on hostagator and we all know that the social engineering breach too occurred there.
does not say they are on cPanel DC that a breach cannot happen. social engineering is becoming more common. social engineering/hacking can happen to any website no matter where they are hosted. It is the measures you as a site owner/hosting provider take to minimise these sorts of attacks.
