Default Don't automatically send renewal to registrar upon payment option

Often, when a client's domain has come up for renewal, we wish to renew it for them before they've completed payment. Perhaps they've notified us that they'll be a couple weeks late.

When this happens, we send off a renewal to the registrar manually. The client's invoice remains unpaid.

Once the client pays the invoice WHMCS automatically sends another renewal to the registrar -- thus costing us double and actually adding two years to the registration when we only wanted one.

My feature request is to have a checkbox for the domain such that upon next payment received, don't send renewal to registrar.

This way we can manually renew the domain and check the box to ensure that for this year the domain will not be renewed a second time once payment is received.

    How often does this happen?

This is how we deal with it:

    Renew the domain.

Edit the invoice, copy the line item, and then delete the original line item.

That way the invoice is no longer linked to the renewal, so won't send the auto-renewal to the registrar.

Additionally, If you process the early renewal through WHMCS, from the admin side, it will send them an invoice but will not renew again when the invoice is paid.

Thanks Scurrell, I've been removing the association with the line-item to the product from the database, but I guess this would be somewhat easier. Either way, an option for this in the UI would be optimal.

Strother: Doesn't directly apply in that this normally doesn't crop up until the invoice has already been generated. That said if we catch it, we'll be sure to try it out that way.
