Default Setting of order template on product page.

This feature is a must as far as i am concerned and i shall tell you the reason why.

I am trying to use two of the order layouts.

Shared hosting & reseller - Comparison
    vps/dedicated - slider

I know that this is done simply by using a carttpl=formtemplate but this is restrictive and also bad for SEO reasons. search engines dont like variable urls as has been documented many times over the years.

There is also a second but more important factor, once a form template has been set either in the ACP or in a link, it is set on a global setting. that means, even if i am linking to each of the templates per product group or product, those changes are cancelled out the first time you use it.

    I mean this.

Link to product1 -> Now my chosen product displays correctly = comparison
Link to product2 -> Now my chosen product displays correctly = slider

Now, i am viewing product1 and i use the navigation on that page to switch product2 hey whats going on, product2 is showing me comparison and not slider!

the only way to ensure this doesnt happen is to remove the navigation and force my visitors back to the main page. whoops i just lost a customer my navigation suck and its frustrating even me, so i dread to think what my visitors think.

My suggestion, Keep the global form settings but on the products add a dropdown to select the chosen form layout, default will be the globally set form so it wouldn't be a required setting for each product.

I have had more thought on this, and i think a better option would be to set the form template to use on the product group.

This would take away the need to use carttpl to call up a specific template

all vps and dedicated can use the slider

Standard hosting / reseller could use comparison

or really in whatever way you want. but it would make linking to products easier and more SEO friendly. thats a definite plus in my check list
