We're still waiting, with no word whatsoever from WHMCS development team so far.....

Pre-billing allows us, as hosters, to limit our exposure to customers that don't pay at the end of the month. There are many hosting companies that go out of business from billing at the end of the month.

We will be offering this as a paid monthly module for WHMCS. It will only support 3.0 (acton release) which will go GA late this month.
Hello, I apologize, I am new here and maybe confused. Do you represent WHMCS or a 3rd party?

we were looking to build such a module for our own use - but, if WHMCS is building one and will make it available/supported - we will wait for this as it would make more sense.

Its actually not as difficult to build this as people are suggesting here - we are speaking a bridge between 2 APIs. Though as others have pointed out, the cloudstack API is not as flexible as one would like, so, there would be various limitations on functionality - but, it would be a start.

You can take a look at the Ubersmith integration to see the level of integration capable via the native cloudstack API and its limitations.

Now, if this is going to be integrated into WHMCS by WHMCS - then thats a different story and is a much more logical route to go and we would wait for it vs building our own.

I guess I need to know if this is going to be a WHMCS supported module or 3rd part and then decide whether to do this on our own or not

Would rather stay with WHMCS, any feedback on what release cloudstack/openstack is planned for?
You guys do realize that OpenStack is not production ready, right? You're asking for something way too early. There are several companies working on making OpenStack scale - most notably RackSpace. There are many folks testing the OpenStack beta at RackSpace, so if it goes into production, you'll be essentially reselling RackSpace.

If you don't want to resell RackSpace and stand up your own cloud, OpenStack *at this point* isn't ready for the small hosting community. You can do it, but you have to go large to get any type of ROI.

+1 for cloudstack support ... yes, put me down for asking for something "way too early" as well.

While that may be true for OpenStack, Gartner's points on CloudStack are also interesting: http://blogs.gartner.com/lydia_leong...source-clouds/

OpenStack is a highly immature platform (it’s unstable and buggy and still far from feature-complete, and people who work with it politely characterize it as “challenging”), but CloudStack is, at this point in its evolution, a solid product — it’s production-stable and relatively turnkey

    Hello,

I may be interested, can please PM details on this module - including what functions are supported, and what you plan to charge for the module?

    Thanks!
