    Default E-mail Template Previews

I've been playing around with customizing the e-mail templates in the WHMCS admin section. It would be tremendously useful to have a "Preview" button, with either the output of the template with demo user information, or a generated .pdf opening in a new window. I know I can perform an action, such as generating a new invoice or what not, but then I have to go through the motions of doing that. And some of the functions are just a pain in the arse to have to emulate.

So there you go, my first desired request. Please help WHMCS dev team!

    Thank you.

Again today, I came across this... wasting time with trying to generate fake users just to "preview" the look of my e-mail templates which I'm creating in WHMCS. There should be a way to preview these, honestly, it would save tons of time for those of us that need something else besides the stock layout.

    Thanks for your consideration.

I also need this! It would be so much easier just to be able to look at what the template looks like without having to trigger it off by ordering etc.

    Hello all.

Okay. I see what you are requesting and trying to figure the why ?
I could be missing something here ?
The end result is that in order to test in the first place you are going to have to create a fake user to test what is sent. Your 'preview' is in your email client. Not in WHMCS.

If it is critical why not create an html page with a table to control layout.
(One of the few times where table layout is absolutely recommended. See attached.)
You will have to shift all the .css to inline as opposed to embedded and remove the doc type and <head>, only used for validation, and very possibly <html><body>.

I do not use this on the grounds that it will break somewhere down the line on some email/webmail client.
(I'm not even sure if WHMCS 'html source template editor' will just format it out or not ? )
Guaranteed all your 'purty' table structure that you have spent time on getting pixel perfect just gets ripped out and you are left with a very unprofessional mess.
Essentially you are just sending out a lot of extraneous markup/data that will very likely get ignored and in some cases explicitly.
(I usually never 'load' images in Thunderbird - Just my choice.)

Pretty well documented here - http://www.anandgraves.com/html-emai...ne_stylesheets

I've tested this, on a simple form with email confirmation and I err on the side of caution - just get 'well formed' mail through.

    Regards,
    Stephen.

Got my backing, would also like a Preview option.
