    Default Public bug tracker

I think a public bug tracker would be an invaluable tool that would allow users to report bugs and follow-up on them (a much better alternative to posting a forum thread).

Something like Mantis Bug Tracker would be very handy. It's free and relatively easy to setup.

WHMCS has a bug / new feature suggestion tracker a while ago, but it was withdrawn and replaced with the system currently in place at http://dev.whmcs.com/

As far as I'm concerned the new "bug tracker" you speak of is nothing more than a change log and doesn't allow any interaction from your user base, thus greatly limiting its potential. Just like Wikis are great for allowing users to contribute support documentation so also are public bug trackers great for supplying your dev team with a large number of free testers and QA people

Well I assume Matt has his reasons for getting rid of the bug tracker. Perhaps people were submitting bugs/feature requests that weren't valid and administering it was taking time away from actual development?

Probably also because the bug reports and feature requests forums were also present at the time - got time consuming viewing two separate places.
