  1. We're getting this same error... any ideas?
  2. Is there a way we can see a list of the known bugs in the current version, so I know what issues to expect? i don't care about previous versions, but just whatever the latest release is, it would be great to get to know about any bugs ahead of time. For example, if the client search was broken, it would be nice to be able to know that it's still broken in the version we're running. That way we're not all running to submit tickets about the same bugs.
  3. Can someone else verify this bug? I'd rather not test it to see if it's actually broken, as I don't want it to send e-mails to the clients. We use this feature often.
  4. - That's exactly my point, and why everyone here is so confused. We understand the formatting for the builds/releases. The core code has been changed, because it's affected so many files. We're used to seeing this released as a full version #, rather than the incremental updates that WHMCS normally does for security patches/fixes, hence all the confusion here. Any idea why the "Your Version" / "Current Version" is wrong in my screenshot? I installed 5.2.6 and it shows up as 5.3. Even the WHMCS install itself expected it to be a FULL release, rather than a patch. - it wants to be called 5.3
  5. Thanks Chris. This really would have avoided a lot of confusion if that was more clear, as well as the version number not listed as an incremental build. When WHMCS has released incremental builds, the last number is the one that changes. Alternatively, when WHMCS releases full builds, the 1st or 2nd number changes. So people here expected a patch, rather than a full blown upgrade. So I installed 5.2.6, once the install was complete, it showed up as version 5.3.0, but it says I'm not running the latest version now.
  6. This is why security fixes/patches should be incremental when possible. There's a HUGE difference between an upgrade, and a security patch/fix. The two should NOT be combined unless the security issue is so great that it warrants a FULL upgrade. Chris, approx how many files were affected by the security issue that was found? If it's only a few, maybe WHMCS could implement a patch for us who have heavily modified installs?
  7. Every major payment gateway releases the API code in order to allow companies to create the modules needed in order to use that gateway. So, the gateway is open source.. that's the only way developers are able to figure out how to connect to the gateway. For example, WHMCS has the Authorize.net and CDG Commerce gateway modules. Although the gateway's API code is open/available, WHMCS fully encrypts their software. Unfortunately, they also encrypt the third party payment gateway code as well. WHMCS charges $40 to copy an existing gateway module, so you can run a 2nd one. For $40, it's worth it for us to have an additional module created. I'm sure most WHMCS users just have a single payment gateway, and when an additional is needed, they simply activate a different gateway. I doubt this will ever be changed, as we're more of a unique user with WHMCS. When you have offices across multiple states, the income needs to be tracked state by state. It's much easier to track it through the actual CC transactions in real-time, so we need an additional module to do this.
  8. Has anyone created a custom CDG Commerce gateway module? The way WHMCS is built, the built-in payment gateways may only be used ONCE. So once it is activated, you cannot activate a 2nd one. However, they have cleverly designed it so you can add your own payment gateways, thus allowing you to bypass the limit. Has anyone created their own CDG Commerce payment gateway?
  9. I just received an e-mail from WHMCS, with the subject "Welcome to the community!" Any idea what this is? The email looked a tad shady, as I've had an account here for years. Specifically: monitor :response_type activity It does look like it was generated by WHMCS's mail server: Received: from req-server.whmcs.com ([208.74.120.233])
  10. It's back up now for me. While WHMCS.com's member area was down, my WHMCS install was giving the "invalid license" message. I thought the callbacks were adjusted so that if WHMCS.com goes offline, it doesn't suspend our licenses? Can anyone from WHMCS comment on that?
  11. Had the same problem earlier > WHMCS.com Client Area DOWN - Invalid License, DB Problems, etc.. The forums were down too:
  12. We just upgraded our WHMCS from 5.2.4 to 5.2.5 and after the upgrade, we received an invalid license message when visiting the admin page. The message then links to the client area, which is currently down. When I go to the WHMCS client area: https://www.whmcs.com/members/clientarea.php?action=products It gives me an error: Critical Error Could not connect to the database Am I possibly receiving the invalid license due to the fact there's an error on the whmcs.com website?
  13. We want to add a domain checker to our website, however, we want to integrate that within our current site template/layout, without requiring you to go to the whmcs folder. I don't believe there is an API call to do this. Essentially, the way it's setup right now, if I add a domain checker / whois lookup on the website, when you submit the data, it takes you to the WHMCS folder and processes the request. I want to do that, without having to go to the WHMCS folder, and without having to launch some third party script.
  14. Well, the first problem is that you're using IE - you should switch to a better browser like Chrome or FireFox. Most likely this is due to some mod_security settings. Not actually a WHMCS issue itself, but something on the server is preventing the page from displaying. Have you server admins review the mod_security rules to see what might be causing that error.
  15. - If it doesn't go through the first time, I'll usually manually run the transfer directly through Enom. It says "Domain Not Found" because it is not within Enom yet since the transfer failed. You need an EPP code to transfer a domain, so you'll need to request that from the customer if you do not already have it. 1) Unlock the domain 2) Get the EPP code 3) Initiate the domain transfer request, with the EPP code
