  1. Thanks John, I had not used billable items before. They are very close to what I want to, which is a custom invoice that is paid for in increments by subscription billing However, it seems that I can add products, but not bundles. Is this likely to be added as an upcoming feature, or is there a hack or a workaround possible as yet?
  2. Hi Guys, I've recently returned to WHMCS after a long abscence (purely due to a family trauma), and I've realised that I've forgotten most of what I had learned about WHMCS , and that there are new features (in v5.2.7) since V4.2 that I haven't seen. Being a bit rusty, I think I could really use some help to get 'back in the game'. I've got my new site setup at thatstartupguy.com.au & billing/support will be live shortly So my first question will hopefully be an easy one. After create bundle "A", say $2000 (which includes product 1,2,3,4,5, etc), is the any way that I can create a subscription billing, say $200 per fortnight (until the $2000 is used up), for the bundle, rather than bill the client for each product, or bill as one lump sum? I am ok with sending one invoice, and then sending them a payment reminder for eachperiod, (say week) for the part payment, but I'd rather not do it manually. Any suggestions many thanks in advance, and my apologies in advance if this is a 'bog-standard' question PS gateway should be PayPal
  3. there's nothing compelling you to pay that much If you value your time at $80 per hr, its an hour & a half of your time. If you value your time at $5 per hour, its worth 24 h hours of your time. Personally I think my time time is worth more than mucking around for weeks trying to acheive a result that some-one has nicely packaged up for me into a usable solution. So either write your own, or don't use it. Well done to Steven in creating such a useful addition to WHMCS
  4. I can suggest an alternative for those that use Joomla for part of their site With the JWHMCS add-on , it is possible to give each Joomla user a separate login. those users can be consolidated into groups under one common whmcs login. Its not perfect, but its the best thing I've seen so far.
  5. Just to highlight what these mean by "using Winmerge", her's how we do it when an update comes out. First we take 2 backup copies of our existing templates Next, we use Winmerge to run a comparision (locally) between the standard templates of the new version, and the standard templates of the version that wwe are using (not our 'in-use' templates) of all tpl files to highlight the differences in each template. Then we the take the 'changes' that are highlighted in each template, and apply them to each tpl in one of the local backup sets of our templates (the other set remains unaltered for safety purposes) Then we upload the templates in a new directory name within the templates directory next we test them to make sure we haven't made any basic syntax errors. We expect to see errors for mssing functionality - we don't expect to see blank pages Only then do we run the upgrade. Once completed we test the new templates for the new functionality (in the alternative directory name) Finally if we are happy, we delete the original custom template, and rename the new custom templates to the orignal directory name. I'd be happy to hear how other manage this process for highly ciustomised templates.
  6. Or set a normal price and give the family member a 100% discount promo code
  7. Rechecked my steps. it helps if you run the install file from the root directory, not the admin directory doh.
  8. PS, make sure you have template directory called "mobile"
  9. Ah, just realised I never posted it. heres the line you add above </head> {php} include("mobilelook.php");{/php} and extract this zip & put the mobilelook.php in your whmcs root directory. mobilelook.zip
  10. Having a spot of trouble with a 4.02-4.11 install. Perhaps some-one can spot what I'm doing wrong Have followed all the steps as per below. Begin by taking a backup of your database through a tool such as phpMyAdmin Unzip the contents of the zip file download to a folder on your computer Remove the images/logo.jpg file to avoid overwriting your customised logo Upload the files to your existing installation folder overwriting any existing files Visit the admin area to access the upgrade script Accept the license agreement Confirm you have backed up your database and click the upgrade button Once the script finishes loading, delete the install folder Before the upgrade is completed, you must update your custom template with any new or changed template files Have also completed step 9 Problem is, get to step 5, and get the following warning Security Warning The install folder needs to be deleted for security reasons before using WHMCS So I does that, and logs in to admin again, but a) the upograde script hasn't run and b) (obviously) to option to select the licence and run the script don't appear. the licence version still says 4.02 What am I missing?
  11. http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?p=107301 Should solve your problems
  12. If you are in OZ, there's a fix for this. If not, can't offer a solution, but other might be able to
  13. I see what you are getting at, DCM. However, Even in WHMCS itself, when you convert a quote to an invoice, it doesn't action or cretae a product, so why would an add on mod do this. Why not add the quote no. or Quote title to the project title, so that you can easily relate one back to the other?
