  1. Couldn't agree more. I'm stunned that the current state-of-affairs has survived for so long.
  2. fyi: I got this help directly from WHMCS support: http://docs.whmcs.com/Spam_Control#Blocking_Keywords_or_Phrases This is helpful, but offers only very basic blocking options, i.e. not possible to block email based on matches between, for example, a specified email address AND a matching phrase in the body text. But hey, it's better than nothing
  3. Hi All, I'm trying to reduce the clutter of excess emails arriving in SysAdmin department in WHMCS support tickets. The email account we're pulling messages in from is a Google Apps mail account, so we're polling pop.gmail.com on pop3 port 995. My idea was as follows: for the emails we DON'T want pulled into WHMCS from this Google account, setup a filter, and for all matching emails: 1. Mark them as read 2. Archive them. But I notice that, despite the above actions, such messages are STILL being pulled into WHMCS. I guess I could delete them, but that defeats the object of having them there for possible future reference directly in that email account. So short of deleting the emails that I don't want WHMCS to pull in.... anyone got any ideas what else I can do? If I can't stop WHMCS pulling them all in regardless, then there is this module from ModulesGarden that would probably do the trick, but seems a little pricey for what it does, $149/yr: http://www.modulesgarden.com/products/whmcs/support_tickets_allocator/features Thanks, Ross
  4. Hello sentq - can you give us more help in terms of how to actually do a custom change to achieve this, i.e. so that clients can see the full thread of emails each time a ticket is responded to? Thx.
  5. Hi All, I might be asking the wrong question, but here goes... We're a website design and development company first and foremost, offering "boutique" (I hate the word!) hosting to our clients. Sometimes a hosting account for a live site might have one, maybe two a hosting accounts associated with it - the test/dev version, and the UAT (user acceptance testing) version. I have two business objectives: 1. I want to be able to invoice the client for *all* the hosting accounts associated with their main live site. I don't want to give away the (mainly) additional storage for the dev+UAT sites for free. 2. I want to give different permissions to different developers who may be working on the same site. For example, I want to limit some developers to be only able to work on the dev+UAT sites, but not give them the permission to push the code to the live site. One option is to setup the dev+UAT sites as sub accounts of the main live site. That would satisfy business objective #1 because we then can easily see the aggregated usage of bandwidth and storage for all sites on that account, primary plus sub accounts. But the sub account option then makes it hard (impossible) to deliver on business objective #2. So what if we scrap the sub account option, and setup the dev+UAT sites as separate, independent hosting accounts? This satisfies business objective #2, but now the bandwidth (data transfer) + disk storage aren't aggregated. So my idea/hope is that the solution lies in putting all the sites: live, dev, and UAT, into a WHM reseller account. What I'm then hoping is that WHMCS is smart enough to aggregate the disk storage + bandwidth of all/any sites in the reseller account so that I know how much to charge the client for all 3 combined, i.e. as if they were a single account. 1. Does the above make sense? 2. Might the combination of using reseller accounts + WHMCS give me the outcome that I'm after? 3. Any better suggestions anyone? Thanks very much in anticipation, Ross
  6. Thx. https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/more-granularity-for-permissions-for-module-command-operations
  7. Hi All, We've had a couple of occasions where hosting accounts have been accidentally terminated using the terminate module command in WHMCS, and I want to stop this. I can see that it's possible to enable/disable *all* modules commands ("Perform Module Command Operations") per admin role, but I want to see if I can disable *only* the terminate command. WHMCS documentation doesn't appear to be coughing up the answer. Thanks for your help, Ross
  8. Thanks for your help, sentq. This is one of 3 questions I've fired into these forums in the last few days, all relating to support tickets. This is being driven by a great client of ours requesting improvements to the standard WHMCS support ticket system. As much as it's very useful for us to work with a support ticket system that is tightly integrated with our WHMCS (i.e. the default WHMCS ticket system), our experience is that there's quite a large functionality gap between the out-of-the-box WHMCS ticket system and more dedicated, standalone systems such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, Wrike, etc. In other words, "tightly integrated" is good, but not good enough if there's a large gap in functionality versus other more dedicated systems. So I suspect that - at least for this client - we'll have to abandon the WHMCS ticket system, because it's just not powerful/flexible enough. Specifically: 1. Client can't adjust the priority of a ticket in their logged-in client area (the question posed in this ticket) 2. Support ticket emails generated in WHMCS and sent to the client don't include the full thread of emails messages to-date for that ticket. 3. Adding a new client contact (e.g. additional contact) into WHMCS *after* they've sent one or more support ticket doesn't auto-match tickets with the new contact, even though email addresses match. 4. Tickets appear to match with the primary contact, even when the match is with an additional contact. Would be great to see a lot more investment in upgrading the support ticket area of WHMCS so that people like me don't have to go to 3rd party services. We'll see...
  9. Hi All, This is a partial repeat of an old ticket: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?58458-Customer-Portal-Support-Tickets&highlight=change+ticket+priority Is it possible to enable clients to self-manage the priority (low, medium, high) of their support tickets while logged into their client area of WHMCS? Thanks, Ross
  10. When I reply to a client's support ticket in WHMCS, my understanding is that all the client receives in the email that they receive is my single reply. In other words, the full conversation/thread of emails that have been exchanged on that ticket so far are NOT included in the email the client receives each time I make another reply to their ticket. Is it possible for a client to receive the full conversation of emails against a ticket, each time they receive an email with my latest reply to their ticket? A client has just asked me if this is possible. I recognise that they can login to their client area in our WHMCS to see the full conversation thread, but what they're requesting is specifically that they see all comms to-date in each email they receive. Thanks, Ross
  11. Thanks for that. I can see how this would work, but.... 1. I've got probably about 100+ tickets from this contact, so going through this process for each ticket historically would be quite onerous. 2. When I did it for 1 ticket, the name of the person that the ticket is being associated with is the existing primary contact record/person associated with the company - as opposed to the name of the contact that I just added with the matching email address. This is potentially a cosmetic issue only... but seeing the name of the additional contact (that I just added) that matches the submitter email address would be very preferable. So sincerely thanks for you suggestion @sentq... but I wonder if it's possible to improve upon your solution?
  12. Hi All, Is it possible to associate historical support tickets in WHMCS to Company, i.e. *after* you add the submitter as an additional contact record for a company in WHMCS? Or does this happen automatically? We've just noticed/realised that lots of tickets have been received by a client who was not recognised by WHMCS because the client's email address was not recorded as a contact in WHMCS. So we've now added the contact using the email address that matches all the tickets he's been sending, but there's no sign of any linking of historical tickets to that newly added contact record. Thanks, Ross
  13. Hi All, I notice that there is a feature request to enable us to better control/increase the session timeout for the admin area: https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/custom-session-timeout-settings-for-admin But presumably there's a config at a coding-level that we can change to increase this? If so, please can someone advise? Thanks, Ross
  14. fyi: I've been backwards and forwards with OneSaas in the last few days. Turns out that there's currently no way to have the Status (active, inactive, or closed) of a contact record to show up in OneSaas. Strangely you *can* choose to import either all contact records regardless or status, OR only contact records with a status of 'active'... but still it's the status setting itself doesn't show up in OneSaas. Which I believe effectively makes OneSaas unusable if WHMCS is your authoritative CRM for client contact records, as it is for us. Which makes this claim a little cheekly IMHO: http://www.onesaas.com/Integrate/billing-invoicing/whmcs
