Hi guys , I started with the WHMCSPM back in 09, but it looks like its been discontinued

Has anyone done a feature comparison on live use of each of the PM add-ons?
eg OEM Add-on, WHMCSPM2 & wbteam pro community add-ons

looking to get back into the game in a new way & i need a new PM.

gannt chart would be useful, but I need to have
fine grained permissioning to allow contractors to access parts of diff projects, without seeing all the elements of whmcs
a client facing from-end
intergrated tickets
integration with quotes (useful)
easy project creation
automatically create a project once a customer places and pays his order/quote
email tasks
file versioning & storage (a nice-to instead of having a sep subversion)

Your experiences in using anyy of the above would be useful.

Cheers

To adapt the module to our needs we needed some custom functionality impossible to achieve with standard configuration. For example:

- Monitor every project creation and send a custom email (sms) with information like ETA, Assigned Developer and Designer. Permalink to the project status page.

- Monitor every project status change and notify the customer with a custom email (sms) about it.
- Notify a developer/designer of a new assigned project.

- Send due date reminders to assigned people.

Right now we had to program this functionality monitoring the log table database but it will be less resource intensive with some simple hooks added in the module directly.

I've looked all over and haven't seen a solution to this, hoping somebody has created a widget or *something* that makes it easy to see what a staff member has for Project Management Tasks in 1 easy to view list.

Right now I literally have to look at EACH project and scan for tasks to see if I have a task assigned. It's quite odd that there are no email notifications for new assignments of tasks to that person, but not even a list of that staff member's tasks is crazy! There is way too much potential for items to get lost and cause business to fail over and over again, which is totally opposite of what a project management system is used for.

What I'm hoping for is a simple way to see a list of tasks by staff member that shows the following in that list:

staff name | task name | task due date | project name

If this was viewable on the homepage dashboard showing all your specific tasks, great. Even if it was able to be viewed on it's own page where you could select a staff member to view their assigned tasks, great as well!

Am I nuts for thinking this would be a huge feature, being confused why this isn't available?

Forgive me if this has been covered, looked for an answer and could not find one.

I have the latest version of WHMCS and the latest version of project management tool.

I have configured all settings to allow certain Administrators Roles (Search Marketing Team in this example) to have access to projects. I have checked the "View Only Assigned Projects" box and deselected the "View All Projects" box.

When I login to a account in this new Administrators Role, I can SEE only the tasks assigned to the staff member, but I can't actually click and view them. The projects are there, and only the ones I should see are listed, but they are not able to be accessed when clicked.

Is there another setting I have overlooked or has anyone else had this same issue and could point me in the right direction?

Here is a screenshot of what I am talking about:
I can see the tasks assigned, just can't click them.

A few considerations that I've noticed here, but I'll add my two cents. I've used about every PM suite out there, Basecamp, Redmine, Zoho, etc. And would love to scrap all of these for one suite of tools.

1) Subtasks and Task Lists (I know that you can create separate projects for each list, but this is bulky).
2) Shared Calendar or Meetings Calendar (invite other admins?) maybe use the new integrated calendar feature.
3) Milestones
4) Git/Subversion connectivity
5) Easily associate invoices, tickets, etc. without copy and paste.
5) Also the ability to dis-associate an invoice (you can remove a ticket, but not an invoice), may be a bug. We've accidentally assigned a few invoices to a project for another customer (ouch) and can't remove them without deleting the project and starting over.

This is something I think would be VERY useful, especially since the calendar can quickly become cluttered with lots of same-colored boxes. It would be great to be able to type hex values in the settings section for Project Statuses... i.e. add/remove pairs of text boxes:

-----------------------------------------------------------

[Pending] [#F7F892] [x]
[In Progress] [#BAE6A4] [x]
[Completed] [#CC0000] [x]

[ Add New Status Button ]
(Click x to remove status)

-----------------------------------------------------------

Or maybe just delimited in its current comma-separated form:

[ Pending|F7F892,In Progress|BAE6A4,Completed|CC0000 ]

-----------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, then when you look at the calendar (and maybe even the Status column in the projects list -- but definitely in the calendar), the boxes are color coded. It would be perfect to see at a glance of the month/week/day what all is in our design department, what's in production, what's done, etc. Does this seem feasible? :)
