Hello All:

Was trying to post the question to the forum "Tips, Tricks & Howto's"--but posting there seems disabled now.

I noticed that the default modules coming with WHMCS for some domain resellers like Resell.biz or NetEarthOne are not working with some of the ccTLDs that require additional domain fields (that is additional information such a national ID, birth date, etc.). If such TLDs are defined in the file /includes/additionaldomainfields.php, then it works. But only a few are (by default) ... and those mentioned resellers do not provide their own additionaldomainfields.php. All those modules are based on LogicBoxes, and WHMCS then refers to the Resellerclub module as base module (at least that is my understanding).

When I try to register a Russian .ru domain, first of all there are no fields for national ID and birth date showing in the order form, but further I am getting this ERROR:
Domain Registration Failed - Domain ID: XXXX - Domain: XXXXX.ru - Error: Required parameter missing: attr-value1
And I believe the reason for the "attr-value1" error is based on this--I quote:
"EU, .NZ, .RU and .UK domain names do not have an Administrative Contact associated with them. You need to pass the value of admin-contact-id as -1 for these domain names."

Does anyone know how to create an entry for "additionaldomainfields.php" that would do this ... "pass the value of admin-contact-id as -1" ??

I like to add this:
here is a SAMPLE code -- this is for .uk domains, the entry as it comes in the WHMCS-supplied "additionaldomainfields.php". According to above info what applies to .ru also applies to .uk (as regards to passing on the value of admin-contact-id as -1) .... but looking at the code I do not understand where this would be done. Maybe you understand/see it?

Hi,

Is there a way to submit to the helpdesk via a custom page that isn't submitticket.php ?

We have styled supportticketsubmit-steptwo.tpl for internal customer use - it isn't a "contact us" form, it's a support request form. The contact.tpl template has been designed with all our company info on it, for pre-sales and business enquiries.

I'd like to use the contact.tpl template to submit the existing contact form details to the helpdesk, with the dept field hidden and no upload file options - has anyone done that, or do you know how that could be achieved by creating a new page?

Or - can I just take the filed names from supportticketsubmit-steptwo.tpl and swap these out on the contact.tpl template, then set the form action to submitticket.php?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hello folks,

I'm not currently a WHMCS user, but am looking seriously at purchasing a licence. One critical factor in my decision is the need to add some specific functionality that isn't available natively... Hence this request for someone to offer pricing to have a custom module written.

What I am looking to achieve, is a means to offer e-mail addresses for sale that are only an email account on a pre-existing domain without any new cPanel account or (sub)domain being created. I have a suite of geo domain names licenced, and want to offer "name@location.com" addresses using my domain names. I have experimented with some cPanel API calls, and it seems all the required functions are available.

I will need a module that can 1) Validate a requested e-mail account name against set criteria to determine the appropriate charging rate for it; 2) Check the availability of a proposed e-mail account name within the domain selected from a defined list of options; 3) Trigger the appropriate billing function through standard WHMCS systems; 4) Create the pop3 account in cPanel upon confirmation of payment; 5) Provide basic account management facilities (eg. reset / change email password, check space usage against quota, cancel subscription etc)

As I'm not already familiar with the specifics of WHMCS's operation, you may be able to advise more appropriate means for the overall system to achieve these capabilities. I'm open to suggestions...

Thanks in anticipation

Hello There

A week ago, I upgraded to 5.24 and today to 5.25. Noticed the following glitches:

- Clients->View Search Clients no longer works for "Company Name". Shows all clients twice in an extremely long result list, instead of the one company you search for.

- The new sidebar search also shows all-clients in the results of any Company search

- Clients->View Search Clients shows double listing for each client upon performing a "Client Name" search. The same search gives the correct unique results when conducted from the sidebar.

- The Cron no longer sends "Upcoming Domain Renewal Notice" for each domain of one single client expiring on the same date. Instead it sends the notice for one domain out of many domains of that client expiring on the same day.

1. Any of you guys who have upgraded to 5.25 facing the above issues? If yes, which ones / any fixes?

2. My license is leased by my Data Center. Is there a way I can contact WHMCS support team for help with the above? In other words, can I login somewhere using my license key?

Thanks Guys

Hi, I'm just finishing off some template changes to integrate WHMCS with our new website. We are switching from a different system and due to go live within the next few weeks.

I've styled the "contact.tpl" template with some additions - such as our company details, how to find us etc and I want to use the helpdesk to reply to submitted contact forms.

I went into the admin area and set the support department to send the contact form submissions - and went back to test the contact form....

"Oh" - I said... The nice new contact form had disappeared and was replaced with the page for submitting a support ticket. very strange!

I've been through the settings again and I'm sure I have configured it correctly - but I can't find a way of using the contact.php page with the new contact.tpl template as the contact form, without setting that only to an external email address.

The way WHMCS seems to be set up is as follows....

1. You want to send mail from the contact form to an external email address - set the option in admin for the pre-sales contact form email address. This will use the contact.php and contact.tpl template but all submissions will be sent to that email address and not handled by the helpdesk.

2. You want to send contact form submissions to the helpdesk, choose the support dept instead of an email address. This will completely disable the contact.php page and replace it with the supporttickets.php page and its corresponding design.

I've got to be honest with you - this is nuts!

Firstly, it forces you to use the template for the support tickets page - which is not a "contact us" page. So I've lost the nice design that I created for that. I had styled the support ticket templates as basic internal pages for existing clients to use. The function of these pages is specifically for "support" it is not for general pre-sales contact. It's a completely different design.

It just seems so completely backwards - why doesn't it allow you to keep the same page - but simply submit the data to the helpdesk automatically? It makes no sense.

Did I miss something perhaps? It is not clear in the documentation that you can only use either the helpdesk tickets form (internal heldpesk) or the contact form (external email address) but you cant use the contact form and have it submit to the helpdesk. Perhaps you can - but I missed something?

WHMCS support haven't been too helpful unfortunately. I raised a ticket with my concerns, only to be told...

Hi,
Sure you can, simply select the support department you wish the contact.php form to be submitted to under Setup > General Settings > Mail tab > Presales Form Destination. Leave the Presales Contact Form Email field empty.
http://docs.whmcs.com/Mail_Tab#Presa...act_Form_Email

If we can be of any more assistance, please don't hesitate to get back in contact.
Kind Regards,

If their "Lead" support analyst doesn't even know how their product works, there isn't much hope! He thinks that the contact.php form submits the details to the helpdesk - but in practice it doesn't do what he says - not for me anyway! It redirects you to...

submitticket.php?step=2&deptid=x

Disappointing :-(

Hi,

does anyone know if there is a plugin available in the Marketplace of WHMCS which can do the following:

Payment gateway that offers creditcard (visa/mastercard/amex) payments and also PayPal. (Or creditcard payment through PayPal is also accepted)
The gateway should calculate the transaction costs of that transaction and add it to the due amount of the clients invoice. So that the client pays for its own transaction fees.

I am creating an add-on that allows some heavy modification of the affiliate system.

I have a pretty solid understanding of the database structure and have perused through nearly all of the documentation available on WHMCS.com and also searched affiliate related posts in the forums.

Where is the affiliate payment (credit) processed (hook, etc)? Is account credit applied to bill before payment is requested/attempted?

Is it able to be stopped and is it able to be run via CRON?

I would like to tie in to the existing affiliate system and provide an affiliate add-on that greatly increases the flexibility of the WHMCS affiliate system, but the documentation is rather vague...

There are ways around it... e.g. creation of an additional module, table, etc... but this should not be necessary to enhance the affiliate system if there is a hook available that can be used to process additional affiliate processes.

As per much of the posts... I am in agreement that the affiliate system is powerful... but unfortunately, it is also invisible to developers for modification/upgrade/alteration!

Thanks for your assistance!
