Hey,

Currently we can make paypal subscriptions by a client ordering a new product. But lets say for some reason they cancel or a client would like to change from invoices to subscription. The only way is making them re-sign up. I would like their for an option in the admin area so we can make it with out making them re-sign up...

Maybe im not understanding this right, but i dont think its even possible because of restrictions of paypal themselves.

They don't have to re-sign up. I just go into paypal, create a subscription, then send them the link. Then you can add the subscription ID in and make the adjustments to their account.

I don't think the way you mentioned is possible.

Will it still be logged?

Yep, that's what entering the subscription ID is for.

O awsome! Now I need to find out how to add them. PayPals website is so not user friendly or at least not Adam friendly...

This is only true if you have the PayPal IPN Url for WHMCS entered in your PayPal Profile. Otherwise the callback would not occur to WHMCS.

Check Merchant Tools > Recurring Subscriptions.

Hmmm... maybe I'm missing something here, but what would the difference be between:

1. Subscription creation on initial order

2. Providing a "subscription" button in the clientarea to convert the account payment.

In both cases, the subscription is being generated by WHMCS from the client side with the client's interaction, which I assume is necessary. This would be much more convenient than going to paypal, creating a subscription, sending them a link, and expecting them to follow it.

This way, they can just login to their clientarea, go to the appropriate hosting package, click "Subscription", go through the motions, and be done w/ it. And essentailly, it would be synomonous to a new order anyways, but not filling out all the information as it's already available from the customers account.

Thoughts?
