Matt, i know we have already talked about it, but i wanted it officially to the list and maybe get some other users interest to get you motivated to complete it. =P

I've asked for it in private too, it would be awesome to phone verify like over 6.5 and directly mark as Fraud over 8.

i'm with you on that one, but as has been set it would have to be configurable.

do you guys really have big problems with this? we have been doing hosting just for our clients for quite a while, but not generally to the public. we are trying to automate things a bit more, and maybe pick up some fringe clients. do you think fraud will be a big problem for us?

our prices are a bit higher than most. I would hope this might weed out some of the problems? where are you advertising that you atract attention from frauds?

Fraud is a problem, its not huge, but its worth .20 cents to less the likelyhood and/or have more proof to press charges if needed.

What would high prices have to do with fraudsters? Like they care, they arent paying for it anyway.

quite right, its well worth the .20 especially as ny average transaction is $99. you don't think its worth it until you get stung, then get a chargeback on top :(

I was going to post this request as well. Would REALLY like to see this feature make it into a future version!

Matt said he would have included it in the original release, but was not aware that maxmind even supported this. I know that if you dont know about it already, its kind of hard to find on their site.

Their website is a bit...horrid, isn't it?

Telephone fraud verification would be excellent, really. Any order with a CC should be automatically verified by telephone, and the customer's response stored somewhere, for legal purposes, if necessary. This removes the risk of fraudulent chargebacks, and allows the company recourse if the customer actually DOES this.

The problem right now, as it is, is that the CC system has zero protection for businesses who perform transactions online. This isn't a real surprise, as customer verification is impossible (even AVS codes don't protect bank's customers), but adding voice verification which can be pulled up if necessary is a great idea!

I also think this would be a great idea and hope this will be implemented soon.
