i would like to see added for dedicated server customers to be able to submit a ticket that would pull store server info for LT resellers and automatically generate a reboot ticket to automate thsi process. I think i saw something that does this called nocsuite.com

Can't you just create a "reboot" department with custom fields that would collect the info and email the request directly to LT?

Hey,

I belive LT requires a custom email for each client.

Example, before I use to have [email protected] and they would be able to reboot the server that was in email (Client ID and Server ID with root password) how ever I'm not sure if it's just me (since I send out daily emails to the reboots using that one address for my dedicated server clients) but, each of my dedicated server clients have to have a unquie email to send to LT. like [email protected] and [email protected] in order for them to accept it.

If that makes any sense....

Well you need to provide them the server info, client info, and account email address along with several smaller things for a reboot and not all providers want to disclose who there upstream provider is or give there client id out to there customers. If we could have it that you enter in the specific details for each dedicated server customer so if they submit a reboot request in whmcs it will pull the server info and send in the email to lt for the reboot.

As a LT customer as well, I agree this would be a great feature, I'd also like to see it support servers with HP's "lights out" feature. So the customer sends an email to my local reboot address, and it either creates an email for LT, or does the calls to make Lights out reboot the server.

Hello,

I just came across this post in a search today. My name is Nick Hudson and I am the lead developer for NOCSuite. As has been stated, NOCSuite was designed specifically to handle reboots and support of dedicated servers. I realize that many people might like to have an integration between WHMCS and NOCSuite. If you would like to see this done, please let me know and I will get in touch with the WHMCS developers to see if we can't make this happen.

Thanks,
Nick

Your suite doesnt really do much besides organizational stuff that whmcs already does. It doesnt actually do a reboot of the server either, but just submits a ticket when you click on it. I can see how your script would be useful to people that dont have whmcs, but i dont see how it would really compliment it.

His script provides automation of tickets which is handy in removing additional support requests for reboots, which is the core benefit of it. Do you actually use the combination in a live environment so have that first hand knowledge to make such statements?

Some do and just the ability to have information passed into the nocsuite would lessen a task having to be performed manually each time for a client until such time there is reboot facilities at Layeredtech.
