i would love to be able to export accounts and financial data to quickbooks. WHMCS does a lot, but not everything that we cant do without quickbooks.

Would a CSV (comma seperated values) export of all the transactions be ok for this?

Matt, a CSV file will work for Microsofts Small Business Accounting software. I use both Quickbooks 2006 Premiere and the MS product.

I already spoke with Matt about it and IIF would be the correct extension for Quickbooks.

But could Quickbooks use CSV? I think if the export is in CSV, other systems could also benefit from it :)

Hi,

We use Microsofts Small Business Accounting software and CSV would be cool as it would work with that.

EDIT: I have just been told that we don't use Microsofts SBA software, you would never know i am not the one who does the accounts would you...lol

CSV exports are already available from the Utilities menu in V2.5.5

I'm running 2.5.7 and don't see this option in the menu. Where is it?

Go to any report, you'll see it on the left.

Yes, quickbooks can import CSV files but it's a bit tricky. The IIF format is easier but the best thing to do would probably make the CSV automatically formatted to import into quickbooks.

The way WHMCS existing export file would need some tweaking and possibly a software like we use called Transaction Importer Pro.

We just spent a heap of time and money getting our existing order system (not hosting related) to import quickbooks stuff and we're looking to add hosting and WHMCS as our solution - would definitely give you a boost over the competition, about 90% of small businesses started in the past 5 years use QuickBooks.

WHMCS should take a really close look at the QuickBooks Web Connector
http://marketplace.intuit.com/webconnector/

This would allow REAL TIME synching of WHMCS to QuickBooks.

Interspire has added this feature to their new shopping cart, ISC, and it works wonderfully, go take a look at this video at this URL: http://static.interspire.com/isc-demo/index.html and click on the "Sync to Quickbooks" part of the video. Very nice.

Matt:

Im looking at maybe starting a admin module to handle this or IIF. Could you please close this thread and point it to this one: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=9405 then its easier to keep track of everyones feedback.

This is the way to go as the best solution... There is no doubt you are missing a significant marketing opportunity if you don't promote Quickbooks computability. For small businesses TAX time can be a nightmare and the majority of tax accountants will say Quickbooks if asked about an robust system that is suitable of small business that are growing.

Big KUDOs if you guys could get this worked out like Interspire.

Anyone interested might want to check out the thread linked below. We're testing a solution for WHMCS that is just like the Interspire one mentioned in the above post. Automated, no-user-interaction-required data transfer between WHMCS and QuickBooks.
