Setup fees on "Configurable Options"

Hello,

Something that would be really good is to be able to be able to add setup fee's on "Configurable Options"; at the moment, we can only add to the monthly fee, but when selling dedicated servers, you might want to let the user add 512MB more RAM with a $19.99 setup fee and $5/month extra.

Thats a little odd to have a setup fee on RAM, or hard drive upgrades, eh? But I guess it some what makes sense... But than again, I mean the server is already being setup so just add a one time setup fee for the whole server, your techs don't install the server, then put it back on the rack, then pull out the server, put in the hard drive, put it back in the rack and so on....

We charge a setup fee for all RAM and Hard drive upgrades, as well as a monthly fee. And yes, we upgrade the servers with the extra parts depending on availability. And if I put a setup fee on the whole server, that means my clients get charged for a basic setup, which I don't want to happen.

The main reason we use setup fee's is because if someone orders a customized server, and does not pay for it the next month, or cancels the server, we have to reuse that servers, therefore if it's not taken in 24 hours (As a special one off server (No setup)) we undo the upgrades which costs time, which costs money (Something that the setup fee covers)

This is slightly difficult to add using the current system. It might be possible to make it a feature for version 2.6.

I second this request. I find it necessary to be able to do one time fees on configurable options rather than monthly...or be able to do both.

We require configurable one-time option as well.

Example A
Client has an account for ADSL 4 GB and would like to upgrade temporarily instaed of purchasing prepaid ADSL.

Upgrade is ordered as a product per 2 gb ie 1 x Per 1GB Once off
or 2 x Per 2GB Once off

Example B

Client ADSL account and requires Prepaid topup

1 gb x per GB charge once off.


If I use the addon option I have to create an addon for each GB
If I use the configurable option is is charged monthly
