Hello,
I just wanted to say that you guys should make WHMCS Game Server Provider capable. It look to me like this thing works best for web hosting.
Web hosting, to me, is getting old and it's time to get into new stuff.
Any plans for providing GSP support in the next release? Things like setting up packages for per slot cost and not per product cost? And the 2nd step of the order form, the domain options. When selling game servers, i dont want to have that option in there at all. I know it can be disabled, but how about just giving us the option to remove it out of the order form.
Thanks,
Vince
Hey,
WHMCS already supports your request.
You need to setup a product of "Other" and use config. options for that product.
WHMCS also have a add-on that connects with TCAdmin and installs and setup games,

Hope that helps,
Adam
Perhaps an option for turning off all web hosting and domain related items. Not all GSPs are going to want to deal with web hosting/domains. If WHMCS is going to start targeting GSPs then there needs the be less web hosting/domain stuff and more game stuff. For example on the front client page page we have reseller, domains, web hosting and so on and all game servers and voice servers would need to go into "other" which looks very strange for a GSP, considering their main service is selling game servers.
Anyways we have found workarounds for most things, but perhaps having some type of a GSP profile that changes some templates and names would be helpful.
Thanks

Sam,
You don't know what you are talking about. If you do, you would of found out that "other" doesn't mean a good or bad thing. It means that you don't have to show domain name on the order form.
I have a few client of mine that use WHMCS and yes they are selling games. They make a product with the option of "other" and add custom fields and config. options.
WHMCS already connects to TCAdmin and setups games.
Do you guys have any specific request that you want? IE, per slot add-on and so on?
Thanks,
Adam
"Other" does mean a bad thing, it looks unprofessional for a GSP. When a client logs in they see...
Web Hosting Accounts - 0
Reseller Accounts - 0
Dedicated/VPS Servers - 0
Other - 1
Domains - 0
Affiliate Signups - 0
Account Credit Balance - 0
Why would we want all our primary services (voip/game servers) to be categoried as "Other"? To me when I see other I think of something like a t-shirt with the company logo on it, not a companies primary services. I can change it by modifying tpl files and changing the english.txt, but I'm just saying that GSPs may find whmcs more useable if things were built for their type of services.
I'm not saying WHMCS is bad or anything, it's a lot better than the other things we've used and it looks like it's perfect for web hosting, but for game hosting it would be nice if some type of secondary profile could be used.

Only a template edit would be needed to change the word "Other" to be "Game Servers" and you could even remove the other options you don't use if you want. It's fully customisable.
Matt
ya that's what we'll end up doing I think, but for example a company with no web designer may hard a time with this, which is why I was suggesting the secondary profile or maybe a 2nd set of templates that have already been modified.
Thanks

In which file can I find the areas that I need to edit in order to change "Other" and to remove the other entries?
And also where can I find the TCadmin module now? The provided link no longer works. Nor do I see a TCadmin in your add-ons sections.
Thanks
