Calendar billing?

Not sure if anyone has requested this yet, but I'd like to see calendar billing.

I.E. A user signed up on the 15th of the month, they are billed pro-rated for that month, and billed again on the 1st of the month, and then the 1st for each month there after.

Just purchased my license a week ago and loving it so far! :D

One question, if someone does sign up for example on the 17th, will he/she be billed for the remainder of that month, PLUS the complete following month as well?

Sometimes, when you get closer to the end of the month, a normal prorated bill will result in a very small billed amount, and then it would be more convenient if this small part was added to the next month's bill as well. This would of course need to be shown on-screen as well before the customer goes to the payment gate.

It would also be great if these dates were adjustable through the admin panel.

The plan for pro-rated billing in the next version is as follows:

You will be able to select on a product by product basis if the cost should be pro-rated. There will only be one option and that will be to have the amount billed on the first of each month. You will have the option of setting a number of days until the end of the month that determines whether the next month is also billed which will solve the problem of small amounts when it gets near to the end of the month but also allow you to turn it off. This will be a system wide setting so if you want to charge the next month aswell when its less than 10 days until the end of the month, it will be the same for all products on prorated billing.

It will all be shown to the customer explaining how much is due today and then each month after that on the Standard Order Form (Classic may also be supported but it will not be on the Single Page order form).

This is of course the first version of WHMCS with prorated billing so I'm sure more features will be added over time.

That sounds really great, can't wait to see it in the new version! :D

In the future it would be also nice to see the possibility to choose the prorate date instead of having it fixed on one particular date :wink:
