Problem with selecting template

Hi,
I have created a new theme folder and I have uploaded it, however I cannot change the Template in the General Settings in the admin dashboard to my new template, the drop down box is empty. What is wrong?

What's the name of the template folder? Remove any blank spaces.

I have called the folder 'theme'. Also after I create a product and enter the direct shopping cart link into a browser I get a blank page. Is this related?

After inserting the code into configuration.php, I got the following error:
Could not connect to the database

I looked up a solution, and checked the database connection details in the configuration.php file, but this file is empty :?: :?:

Have you changed the cart.php file where you are getting the blank page or any of the templates attached to that file

I made a copy of the default theme and just edited the footer.tpl file and up loaded the new theme folder

This suggests the configuration.php file did not re-upload correctly. A blank configuration.php file is a bad thing.

Should I re-install whmcs?

I did a full reinstallation and it works fine now
