Is there a way to refund a credit card charge from within WHMCS or do I have to login to auth.net and do it by hand (as I have to do with whoiscart now)?
I looked in the online demo, manual, and forums but didn't see this mentioned. Thanks!
Refund unfortunately has to be done directly at your gateways interface just like you mentioned. Not sure if the different gateways api's allow it to be done remotely. If so, i really would like to see this as a feature request as well.

The billing system an old employee wrote did refunds at auth.net, but alas he isn't around to keep it updated so I had to abandon it. So I am 100% positive it is possible, because he did it.

Please submit this as a feature request and make sure you add a poll to it. I will definitely vote yes.

According to http://www.authorize.net/support/AIM_guide.pdf on page 38, therw would be two methods one could do.
Before settlement, one could send a VOID, after settlement one could send a CREDIT (within 120 days of settlement).

authorize.net allows you to refund from a control panel like whmcs, i do it from lpanel once in a while. If its not an existing feature, i suggest you put in a feature request, it should'nt be that hard to add in.
I agree. It is quite easy in fact. I am an AuthorizeNet Certified Solution developer. I can even write it up and send the code to Matt if that would make things go faster. ;)
