Hi
Thank you for the free module :)
Have there been any reported problems using it ?
It does not seem to work for us at all, the mails
don't appear to be sent to the registrar.

The module works.
Have you tested it with your own email to check all the information ?
Check who is sending the email when doing the test as you might not be receiving the replies.
Do the other modules send email eg. support and the order system ?
The transfer module does not transfer the sending email so this has been duplicated my latest module.
Works like a charm :)
Having said that - there are two main options in this script for the mail that's sent out to Uniforum:
1: You can have the client's details embedded into the mail to coza-admin OR
2: You can specify your own and have the domain put into 'your name'.
Pheonix, when you say in the readme that the mail is sent from the default admin/tech (obviously when the option for sending the mail with 'WHMCS's details is enabled), which email address is sending this mail out and do you know if there's any way to check that it's been successfully sent??
I have 100% success if I use the client's details, but i'm having no joy when using 'WHMCS' details.
P.S. creating the dns management support group - great idea ;)

The
[email protected] Is that email sent to http://co.za/ ? Is the email sent to that registrar so that they can register the domain?
Yes, they will process the registration using the plain text information that is generated by the script.
How does the billing work?
You get an invoice on registration. They only suspend the domain 3 months after invoice date.
How do I know that they received it and will register it for me?
You will get an email.

This might be a stupid question, just something that I want to know.
This plugin obviously only works if the client also orders a hosting package and whmcs actually creates the account on the server and a zone file is created. As far as I know Uniforum doesn't allow registrations to go through if there isn't a zone file somewhere setup with the correct name servers.
What about clients who only wants to register a .co.za without a hosting package? Am I missing something somewhere?

That is correct, you will need to add a DNSZone into your server to allow the domain to be registered, or ask the client to supply you with their own DNS Server details.

Transferring was a problem with this version due to some encoding from WHMCS side. You can edit the file in zipped folder using your editor and complete the line. I might have to create a new page as I cannot recall my details for the old one

Unforum fscked up their own system and from what I can gather Matt would need to recode the .co.za WHOIS part of WHMCS. I seriously doubt if this will happen soon though.....
is there anyone else having problems using this script with 4.2.1? I set it up etc, but when I place an order to test it, nothing happens. I saved my email addy in the script, but no mails? Seems like the script is not run by the server?

Hi guys,
To fix this edit the following file:
/whmcs/includes/whoisservers.php
Change all *.za who-is server names from http://whois.co.za to http://co.za.
This should solve validation checks for all .za domain names.

Hey,
Tried both the one posted in this forum and the one via SoftDux's profile (Thanks to both of you for the contributions), but I still seem to have no luck with emails sending. The module create works fine, but then the domains just don't get sent through - I don't receive anything from COZA about failure/success of registration.
1) I have selected the correct registrar for .co.za under "Domain Pricing".
2) I have configured the plugin via the "Domain Registrars" area.
Is there anything else I should be doing?
Thanks in advance,

Chris, if you click on Setup >> Domain Pricing ... What did you select under Auto Registration next to the .co.za tld?
PS: I would never ever allow the module to send an email automatically to Uniforum, to register a domain, once the client registered the domain, you should make it a manual process in the admin side.
What if a client orders 30 domains, the module sends the emails and the client doesn't pay?

Hi,
When I order just a domain name through my WHMCS client area - the request is successful and then I mark it as paid and the email gets sent to COZA.
I then recieve a email from COZA (Client side email) saying that there are no nameservers found? Could this be because it is being sent too quickly?
Is anyone else using an updated version of this module or have any news?

Chris

You can try this.
The issue appears to be that the WHOIS service http://www.whois.co.za/ has been taken down. It appears instead that the URL has now been changed to http://co.za/ so open the file includes/whoisservers.php and change the line:
.co.za|http://whois.co.za/cgi-bin/whois.sh?Domain=|HTTPREQUEST-No Matches
to:
.co.za|http://co.za/cgi-bin/whois.sh?Domain=|HTTPREQUEST-No Matches
And then give it another try.

Did you ever resolve this problem ? I am having the same problem with .co.za
Any domain I try lookup comes back as unavailable.
What I have tried so far.
1. Open port 43
2. Update .co.za url in whoisservers.php
3. disable firewall completely
Please if someone knows what this problem is please let me know.
Thanks
It might help creating a simple php script to debug this:
The following should be created and run on the server so the whois originates from the server ip.
$post_data = array(
'username' => 'your username',
'password' => 'your password',
'accesskey' => 'your access key if ip restriction isn\'t set',
'action' => 'domainwhois',
'domain' => 'domain.co.za'
);
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, 'http://url/to/whmcs/includes/api.php');
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_TIMEOUT, 30);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, http_build_query($post_data));
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
$response = curl_exec($ch);
preg_match('/^result=success;status=(available|unavailable);who is=(.*)$/i', $response, $matches);
$status = $matches[1];
$whois_data = urldecode($matches[2]);
echo 'STATUS: ' . $status . '<br /><br />';
echo 'WHOIS DATA:<br />';
echo $whois_data;
I suspect you may be getting a 'Data mining count exceeded from IP Address XXX.XXX.XXX>XXX.' error, in which case, there's nothing you can really do.
I just tried about 7 whois from my own IP and received this error, so it looks like there threshold is rather low.

regarding the data mining error, I also thought that at first but I tried checking a domain directly in ssh using #lynx http://co.za/cgi-bin/whois.sh?Domain=wefssfgd.co.za and the domain is available.
I will let you know what happens with the script, thanks

Have you tested it with your own email to check all the information ?
Check who is sending the email when doing the test as you might not be receiving the replies.
Do the other modules send email eg. support and the order system ?
The transfer module does not transfer the sending email so this has been duplicated my latest module.

We have recently released an EPP module for .CO.ZA. Registration via the legacy system (Email Based) will soon be discontinued and replaced with EPP. You can check it at http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=21736&page=9This is not entirely true, yes, it will be discontinued but not soon. It will still be available for a number of years to come.
They might push up the charge for using the legacy system still to force people to move on to the new EPP system.
Yes but you will have a lot more when moving to EPP, examples:
1. Domain Registrations/Transfers/Renewals/Modifications are processed in Real Time.
2. Low cost domain registrations.
3. As an accredited registrar, you are listed on their website with your logo and website url. See https://registry.net.za/
Also registrar accreditations are currently free but this may change anytime. It's recommended to get accredited as soon as possible to avoid additional fees.

I think your module is great but a little overpriced.
200 U.S. dollars = 1*533.14271 South African rands
So R50 (Current cost using legacy email system) - the EPP cost R35 Means one = save R15 per domain.
However at R1533 for the module, it would take 102 domain purchases until the module is an asset.
Just my 2c. Any ideas if WHMCS will ever design an integrated EPP module? (Perhaps buy the rights from Benoit :P:P)

EPP modules are complex and are nothing comparable to other WHMCS modules. Also not all EPP registries are the same, a lot of adjustments need to be done to make it work therefore our price justify it.
Our coza epp module is already powering up 8 accredited registrars and more to come.
Also we recently released an accreditation pass script and a legacy domain transfer script that will automatically transfer all your client domain names from uniform legacy registrar.
For a limited time, we are offering 25% off the normal module cost (150 USD instead of 200 USD). It's a special price for those who want to upgrade to the new .CO.ZA EPP Registry.

Hi Benoit,
I want to apply for .co.za domain registrar at: http://regstry.net.za/ For that i need to connect to their EPP system of the registry and pass the accreditation tests.
As given on the ZA Registry's FAQ, they have recommended to buy an EPP Solution or code it by self:
http://registry.net.za/content.php?gen=1&contentid=107&title=Frequently%20Asked%20Questions
I found your website while searching for EPP module for whmcs on the internet at:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?13904-Coza-Registrar-co-za-tld/page5
https://my.fodytechnologies.com/cart.php?a=add&pid=159¤cy=2
I have some queries regarding this:
----------------------------------------------
How much time will this take for me to pass these accreditation test and become an accredited .za registrar.
What are requirements for .za accreditation? Can you help me successfully pass their requirements and tests.
As i have read on .za registry website and your forum posts.
I will have to pay 2500 Rands to ZA registry (non-refundable)
And i get access to their OT&E server for accreditation tests and get 3 months to pass these tests otherwise they will forfeit the whole amount.
Can your whmcs module help me pass these tests and successfully implement the EPP system with the registry.
In case i am unable to pass these tests. Will you refund the whole amount that i will pay for your module.
Can you explain the whole process to me as i am interested in becoming an accredited registrar and interested to buy your whmcs module for that.
Do you still have any promotional discount on the module like your previous offer Promo Code: COZAREGISTRAR (that Expired on 30/04/2012) in which you offered 25% discount.
Kindly reply back as soon as possible.

Hey all!
How can we work around the fact that "registration-only" fails due to "no name servers"?
I know that if a client wants to only register a domain without hosting, a cPanel account needs to be created and I believe domain parking would be the solution here...
Does anyone know how to automatically add domain parking when a client doesn't choose a hosting plan? -Or at least to set domain parking as a prerequisite?

Is there anyone that has got this module working as the 'creator' has gone MIA.
Really do want WHMCS to be able to synch with Uniforum ( as other Regisrars do )
Thanks.

PS: If there is another solution besides domain parking, please share.
For a COZA domain just create a small hosting package called Domains 1 email 1 domain 1meg and Parking 3Domains 1 email 1meg.

I am also waiting for the reply from Fody Technologies since 27th June. I don't how he is telling everyone, that "you would get money back in 30 day period for the module in case you are not satisfied". When he has disappeared since last 24 days and 30 day money back time is almost over!
Moreover, my accreditation tests are still not complete. Have you tried calling their number given at: http://www.fodytechnologies.com/ (is the number active).
I am also very much stressed, soon the 3 month time will be over for testing period at co.za registry and the amount of R2500 will be forfeited.
Can anyone help me in completing my accreditation tests, only one test is left for EPP Poll request.
Or someone get the message to the owner of the Fody Technologies, regarding inconvenience all the people are experiencing due to negligence on his part.
Are we module customers only not getting reply or his regular hosting customers too.

Uniforum WHMCS COZA module updated. Download @numafrica http://bit.ly/qq51q3
I've downloaded this update & edited the php file according to my requirements, the one thing I can't seem to figure out is where do I change the Sender: e-mail address to my own? It picks up the clients & thus .co.za sends an e-mail confirming the domain registration also reflecting the cost of the domain

Fody technologies has not responded to any of our tickets and we are considering legal action against them for fraud. This is ridiculous that they are not prepared to reply to their clients like this, should I not have a response from them regarding the epp module, I will ensure that any potential new customers for their hosting or moduels are fully aware of what they are getting themselves involved with.
Epp polling is simple, you neet to do a query, which will return a message id, poll this again with the correct message id, which will return the message and give you the next message in the queus id, you do this until there is no more messages in the queue.

Yes it is quite ridiculous that they do not respond to support tickets and deliver a working product.
Dear Customers,
We apologize if you have not received a response. The reason is that we are currently having issues with our ticketing system and are currently working on a replacement system. To all registrars waiting for accreditation, please send an email with your test registrar username and password to dev[at]fodytechnologies.com and we will get this sort out quickly.
Fody Technologies is also under a new management and we now have a dedicated team for our EPP modules product.

Glad to hear that they got back to you. Most likely only because you posted here again.
I doubt that the rest of us that had issues making the Fody product work will get an answer to our support tickets that got ignored months ago.
What stops Fody from doing the same again and just ignore their clients for months? I would not like to do business with such a company. They screwed us and didnt care with no explanation!?
The support from the opensource product is way better and more reliable.

Hi,
yep I got it up and running on my windows installation, needed a few "spelling fixes ;-) and one or two tweaks but I got it up and running and the sync module as well, a few changes I want to make to the code but it seems to work fine.
As far as fody goes, he is a scam artist, he doesnt reply to queries with fixes, etc, but this one is open source and I can mod it how I want it so he wont be seeing me soon.

I was pleasantly surprised on receiving a free update from Fody Technologies. Loaded it and tested. This fixed the 4byte issue and new domains are now registered with AutoRenew flag=off. Included in the update they provided a mass AutoRenewal disable script. Ran it and it worked.
Hopefully the registrar-balance is in the making :)

If anyone is interested in CoZa Registry module for WHMCS, we can help.
Since it requires accreditation and more testing, we are considering it only as a custom devevelopment request, but you can be sure we're experienced and have enough staff to handle this successfully.
