I've read on this forum somewhere that it is recommended to have WHMCS running on a different server than the one your customers are hosted on. Well, what if you have only one server? I know the obvious answer is to purchase a second server, but what if that is not in the budget? Is it very unsafe / risky to have WHMCS running on the same box, and what are the repercussions? Performance issues?
Thank you for any advice.

The main reason for running WHMCS on a different server is to have a "backup" incase your main server goes down.

Ditto.
Digi,
It can be run on the same server if you want-- that's just the recommendation.

Thanks!
Security would be the biggest reason i would not run whmcs on the same servers as my clients or any other shared clients. Its a lot easier to hack another account if you already have an account on a server, especially mysql
