Announcement Email

Hello all,

When an announcement is created, the system emails all accounts that have active orders. Obviously, the ability to have this on or off to suit everyone.

It would be a nice feature to have instead of relying on the clients to visit our website. Plus, mass mailings sometimes don't work for me so I cnanot do that when I create an announcement. They just give an unable to send error or something like that.

What do u think?

I think its a good idea.

Clients should be given an option to opt out of it (maybe even give admin the option to let users have the option to opt out.) LOL, did you follow that?

Also, give the admin a check box for selecting if they want to send out an email or not when posting an announcement. I think it would be cool to even have different categories such as Maintenance or Sales/Promotions, etc. That way a client can unsubscribe from sales emails, but still get the maintenance ones.
